Who is Biglow Unbound?

My name is Robert Biglow, and I am a dually licensed clinician (LADC and LPCC). I have been involved in the mental health profession for 7 years assisting individuals, couples, and families that are seeking support to address their concerns of depression, anxiety, trauma, communication, grief, relationships, and life transitions.

Throughout my life I have explored what it means to be “therapeutic.” For something to be therapeutic it must “promote healing, relieve pain, or provide a beneficial effect on the body or mind.” -Merriam Webster

This definition opens the door on how we can manage our symptoms, behaviors, relationships, or stressors. Mental health concerns can be addressed in real ways, and in every day settings.

Embracing the outdoors has been a transformative therapeutic practice for me, offering a quiet, natural sanctuary where I can find clarity, peace, and a renewed sense of connection to the world around me.

Let’s integrate movement, hobbies, and action into the therapeutic process.

What is an Unbound Session?

Unbound sessions are in person therapy sessions that are completed in a public-community setting in order to create comfortability, confidence, and productivity outside of an office atmosphere.

Unbound sessions may include but are not limited to the following:

-Completing a session at a coffee shop
-Sitting at a local park
-Walks
-Hiking
-Paddleboarding
-Biking
-Going to a playground/park (If providing services to children/adolescents/Families)
-Playing games at a local park (Bags, frisbee, catch, basketball, etc.)
-Fishing

An Unbound session serves as a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the outdoors while exploring new hobbies that can enrich your personal well-being.

Let’s work together to determine which activities best align with your therapeutic goals.

Why was Biglow Unbound created?

Life happens outside of an office setting! So, why can’t therapy?

The mental health profession has changed in a way that limits how providers are able to support clients.

Biglow Unbound was established to provide care in everyday environments where clients can receive real-time support in processing concerns and cultivating new abilities.

Immersing yourself in the outdoors can restore mental fatigue, as the natural world offers a soothing contrast to the sensory overload of modern daily life.

If you are seeking therapy for your child or teen, I encourage you to ask what environment feels most comfortable for them: an office setting or an active session at the park where they can play games and talk.

Let’s find meaningful hobbies, explore new interests, and reconnect with the outdoors!

Who may be a good fit for Biglow Unbound services

Adults, couples, teens, adolescents, and children 10+ that are open to TeleHealth therapy sessions, or in person sessions that would take part in a community-based setting.

Unbound therapy sessions are an ideal fit for individuals who feel restricted by a traditional office setting, find that movement helps them process their thoughts more effectively, or feel more grounded and at ease when immersed in a natural environment.

How does this all work?
